GroWNC is a listening and planning process to develop
regional and local strategies for economic prosperity,
quality growth, and sustainable development. Working in
the five county region of Buncombe, Haywood,
Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties, the
GroWNC project team will work with a Consortium of
local governments, non-profit organizations, and
businesses to seek significant input from residents of
the region, gather existing and historical data, and
synthesize it to create a vision of the future.
Building on the work of Linking Lands and Communities
and other existing plans and strategies, GroWNC will
develop a plan to foster economic prosperity through a
regional vision that identifies implementable projects
and actions. Click here to find out how to get involved.

Development.
Updated Data and Maps available soon – The three resource
assessments have been updated to include Haywood County, new
Land Cover data and other updated datasets. The Green
Infrastructure network development is underway and new maps and
data layers will be available in mid-December. We are excited about
the new GI network map, which will identify more and smaller
corridors and be useful in more situations. More details will be
posted when all the data and maps are available.
